Equipment and material theft at construction sites, oil & gas exploration and drilling sites and utility substations is an ongoing problem. By deploying the HighView System, a perimeter can be established, and intrusion notifications can be received instantly, along with viewing of a live video feed to verify the situation and take corrective action. The onboard audio broadcast system can be used to notify an intruder that their presence has been detected, ordering them from the property. HighView Mobile Security System
The HighView Mobile Security System from ParSecurity is much more than a camera trailer. Using decades of experience designing, installing and supporting commercial building video surveillance, ParSecurity has deep expertise with the technology, and the know-how to best deploy it to deliver a complete system that includes intrusion detection, alarming, 24×7 central station monitoring with video verification, and robust remote access to the live video feed from a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.
The system is ready for short or long-term deployment and is capable of months
of continuous unattended operation.
The mobile security system is installed in a single axle all-terrain trailer featuring high grade commercial construction for long-lasting operation. If you think you’ve seen a similar trailer, you probably have. The trailer is sourced from a trailer manufacturer who modified their standard trailer unit to meet ParSecurity specifications.
The HighView System features a variable height mast (maximum 29’) providing an ideal vantage point for large area surveillance. Deploying the mast is quick and easy using the electric winch.
LED trailer/running lights flash in alarm mode. Retractable stabilizer legs provide both stability and leveling. Secure locking equipment bays and storage areas are included. Secured cabling prevents tampering.
Maximum height with stowed mast is 13 feet which meets DOT standards. Gross trailer weight is 2,930 lbs.
Continuous Hybrid Power
Having sustained power is a primary requirement for any self-contained mobile security system. Once deployed, there must be confidence that the area under surveillance will remain secured — even if the system is deployed in remote locations or in environments subject to varying weather conditions.
The HighView System obtains its primary operating power from a bank of 12V 200AH Solar Gel batteries which feature a slow discharge rate and quick recovery, even after deep discharge.
ParSecurity designed and installed a proprietary electrical system within the trailer that minimizes battery power consumption. Battery power consumption is engineered to match solar charge capacity with the goal of sustaining battery power at nominal levels. Enabling this sustained battery power level is possible due to a design that allows batteries to remain in use while simultaneously recharging (other systems may require system shutdown for battery recharging).
Primary battery recharging is accomplished with dual 300W solar panels. The expansion panel stows during trailer transport and is easily deployed for use.
Solar panels use the energy from daylight, as opposed to sunlight, to produce electricity, so the panels do not need direct sunlight to work. It is photons in natural daylight which is converted by solar panels cells to produce electricity.
However, direct sunlight does provide the best conditions for the panels. Even in overcast conditions light will diffuse through the clouds and reach the solar panels. These solar panels include concentrators to maximize any light that does reach the cells. It is estimated that solar panels will be 40% as effective in heavy clouds as they would in direct sunlight. In snow conditions where the panels are covered, the power generation will drop even further.
To ensure uninterrupted operation in any weather condition, the Highview System contains a 3KW gasoline generator which automatically engages when a low-battery condition is detected.
Intrusion Detection and Video Surveillance
In many security applications, it is desirable to establish a perimeter for intrusion detection. The HighView System is equipped with three state-of-the-art long range motion detectors that combine passive infrared and stereo Doppler microwave technologies that identify intrusion within a 90-foot perimeter. Both modes must activate before alarm is triggered, minimizing false alarms which may occur from a variety of environmental factors. Alarm mode notifies central station monitoring who access the live video feed for intruder verification.
The Platinum 2.1MP High-definition PTZ camera installed on the mast provides many features to enhance surveillance activity. The camera features a 30x optical zoom and includes five scan modes (auto scan, tilt scan, frame scan, random scan and panorama scan) and patrol/pattern features with preset pan, tilt, zoom functions. Captured images are improved with backlight compensation and true wide dynamic range. Remote 3D positioning control of the camera is provided in the client access software for easy mouse-driven direction of the camera field of view and zoom.
The optics platform also features three Platinum 4.1MP High-definition turret cameras, each of which provide a 55.4º field of view from its position perched atop the extended trailer mast. Images are enhanced with true WDR and infrared night vision to 100 ft. These weatherproof (IP66) cameras feature backlight compensation, 3D Digital Noise Reduction which removes noise from the captured image, even in low-light conditions. Cameras feature Video Content Analysis which detects objects crossing a virtual line in any direction and triggers an alarm if an object moves in/out of a region of interest. Loitering detection also triggers an alarm when an object lingers in a defined region. The combination of these capabilities gives users of the system powerful video surveillance capabilities.
Video captured by the four cameras is stored on the embedded four-channel network video recorder equipped with 1TB of storage to capture 30 days on continuous recording (additional storage can be added for customers who require a longer-term recording capability). The recorder features multiple user-specified recording modes (manual, schedule, video detection, motion detection, video loss and stop). This pentaplex recorder can perform all functions at the same time: record, view/playback, network (view remotely), administrate and backup.
At the heart of every remotely deployed security system is communicating with the unit. ParSecurity has installed two communication technologies within the HighView System. The trailer is equipped with GSM communications that transmits over 3G networks, sending alarm signals to the central monitoring station.
For high bandwidth communications, which is necessary to support real-time access to the video stream and recorder, ParSecurity has established a relationship with Verizon Wireless to use its 4G LTE network.
Verizon Wireless was selected because of their 4G LTE nationwide coverage which offers some of the fastest 4G mobile broadband available. With speeds reaching up to 12 Mbps the network can deliver the bandwidth necessary for viewing live video feeds.
Verizon’s 4G LTE network covers hundreds of cities across the U.S. and offers service in all 50 states which is vital for a mobile security system. By engaging a consistent wireless communication network provider for all systems, ParSecurity customers can expect the same data coverage wherever their unit is deployed.
To enhance the wireless 4G LTE communications, an extended-range wide-band antenna has been installed. When transmitting, this high-gain antenna allows more of the transmitted power to be sent in the direction of the receiver, increasing the received signal strength. When receiving, the antenna captures more of the signal, again increasing signal strength. Due to reciprocity, the use of this antenna can make a transmitted signal 100 times stronger, and will also capture 100 times as much energy as the isotropic antenna. As a consequence of their directivity, these directional antennas send less (and receive less) signal from directions other than the main beam which can help to reduce interference.
Communication and control of the HighView System is fast and convenient, using a wide variety of devices including smartphones, tablets and personal computers.
Establishing direct access over the broadband link to the onboard cameras and video recorder simply requires a standard internet browser. By entering the IP Address for the specific system, an easy-to-use control panel (pictured above) is provided for administration, device management (e.g. cameras), playback of recorded video, and of course, live view of the real-time video stream.
Access to the system is password-protected to ensure privacy and protection of the information captured/transmitted. Real-time control of the PTZ camera is included (shown in the upper right of the screen shot above). Camera pan, tilt and zoom can also be controlled with the mouse when it is placed into the PTZ camera window. Double-clicking in any widow brings up a full-screen image of that camera.
Apps for smartphones and tablets can be downloaded at no charge from the App Store. The App provides the same capabilities found in the internet-delivered version above.
